« Stillness Speaks » (Soft Pastel, 19 x 27 inches)

This painting is based on a photo that I took during one of our road trips in our beautiful country. The title is from one of my favourite authors, Eckhart Tolle. As I was working on the painting, I could feel the calmness of the canoe, as it quietly waited, moored to the dock, ready for another adventure, but dreaming of its last voyage in nature. The stillness of this scene speaks to me. It brings me to a space deep inside where I feel connected to all things. There, I find serenity.

Ce tableau est basé sur une photo que j’ai prise lors d’une de nos excursions dans notre magnifique pays. Le titre provient d’un de mes auteurs bien-aimés, Eckhart Tolle. Pendant que je travaillais sur le tableau, je pouvais sentir le calme du canoë qui attendait silencieusement, amarré au quai, prêt pour une autre aventure, mais rêvant à son dernier voyage dans la nature. La paix tranquille de cette scène remue quelque chose en moi. Elle m’emmène dans mon for intérieur où je me sens liée à toute chose. Là, je trouve la sérénité.
